Job Title: Biology and Agriculture Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head of Science Department / Principal

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Biology and Agriculture Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in Biology and Agriculture to students in lower and upper secondary levels. This role combines scientific theory with practical application, aiming to cultivate students’ understanding of life sciences and agricultural principles while promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed lesson plans for Biology and Agriculture in accordance with the national curriculum and school standards.
  • Deliver interactive, student-centered lessons that integrate theoretical content with practical demonstrations, field activities, and lab experiments.
  • Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and promotes academic excellence.
  • Plan and supervise agricultural projects such as school gardens, crop production, animal care, and soil conservation exercises.
  • Utilize modern teaching tools and technology to enhance lesson delivery, including visual aids, multimedia, and digital learning platforms.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and practical exams, and provide timely feedback.
  • Prepare students for internal and national examinations with a focus on conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities related to science and agriculture, including clubs, exhibitions, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the development of school-wide programs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student performance and development.
  • Participate in professional development workshops, staff meetings, and curriculum review processes.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, particularly during lab work and agricultural activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Biology, Agriculture.
  • A valid teaching license or certification from the relevant education authority.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience at secondary school level (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of the secondary school Biology and Agriculture syllabus and curriculum standards.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Practical experience in agricultural education or fieldwork is an added advantage.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students toward academic and personal growth.
  • Passion for science, the environment, and sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Proficiency in digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.
