Job Title: Mathematics Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head of Mathematics Department / Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics at the secondary school level, inspiring students to appreciate the relevance of math in everyday life, and preparing them for academic success through strong foundational skills, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the subject matter, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to student development and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured Mathematics lessons in alignment with the national curriculum and school policies.
Teach a wide range of mathematical topics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, and arithmetic, depending on grade level and curriculum.
Use various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and promote conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and critical thinking.
Design and administer tests, quizzes, assignments, and exams to assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
Support students in developing effective problem-solving strategies and confidence in tackling mathematical challenges.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations by offering targeted support, practice, and revision.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior in accordance with school procedures.
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and academic curiosity.
Incorporate digital tools and technology to enhance instruction and engage learners.
Provide remedial support for struggling students and enrichment opportunities for advanced learners.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and improve teaching practices.
Participate in staff meetings, departmental planning, school events, and continuous professional development programs.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and provide support as needed.
Uphold school policies and contribute to maintaining a strong academic culture.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
A recognized teaching qualification or certification from a relevant educational authority.
Minimum of 1 year teaching Mathematics at the secondary school level (preferred).
Strong knowledge of the Mathematics syllabus and assessment standards for the relevant curriculum (e.g., national, IGCSE, IB).
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to inspire, engage, and support students with varying academic abilities.
Proficiency in the use of technology and digital learning tools for instruction.
