Job Title: Geography / Physics Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head of Science and Humanities Departments / Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile, motivated, and well-qualified Geography / Physics Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both Geography and Physics at the secondary school level, helping students develop a deep understanding of the physical world and the natural environment.
This unique combination position calls for a dynamic educator who can integrate scientific and geographic thinking to enhance interdisciplinary learning. The teacher will inspire students to think critically about natural phenomena, spatial relationships, environmental issues, and scientific principles through engaging, interactive lessons and practical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in both Geography and Physics in alignment with the national curriculum and school standards.
In Geography, cover topics such as physical geography, human geography, environmental conservation, mapping, climate, landforms, population studies, and sustainable development.
In Physics, teach key areas such as mechanics, electricity, waves, heat, forces, magnetism, and energy transformations.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including experiments, demonstrations, field studies, map analysis, case studies, and multimedia tools to enhance learning.
Prepare students for both internal assessments and national examinations by providing solid theoretical foundations and practical problem-solving skills.
Maintain an inclusive, well-managed classroom environment that supports positive behavior, academic progress, and student well-being.
Conduct practical lab experiments and supervise fieldwork and outdoor activities as part of the curriculum.
Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing timely feedback and academic support.
Collaborate with other faculty members to support cross-disciplinary initiatives and integrate environmental and scientific themes throughout the school curriculum.
Participate in school events, departmental meetings, professional development activities, and co-curricular programs such as science and geography clubs, field trips, and competitions.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress, expectations, and academic issues.
Maintain up-to-date teaching resources, lesson plans, and student records in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education with specializations in Geography and/or Physics, or a related field.
A valid teaching license or certification from the relevant educational authority.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in secondary schools is preferred.
Strong understanding of both Geography and Physics curricula and best teaching practices.
Ability to effectively manage both theoretical and practical aspects of the subjects.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in using educational technology, lab equipment, and geographic tools such as maps, GIS, or simulation software.
Passion for education, environmental awareness, and student success.
