Job Title: Computer Studies Teacher
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Head of ICT Department / Principal

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Computer Studies Teacher to join our team of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in computer studies across the secondary school level, equipping students with critical digital skills and preparing them for the demands of the modern, technology-driven world.

This role involves teaching both theoretical and practical aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), with a focus on developing students’ competence in computer applications, programming, hardware, internet use, data management, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons that align with the national curriculum and school standards.
Teach a wide range of ICT topics including basic computer operations, office productivity tools, coding/programming, computer hardware, networking, internet safety, and digital literacy.
Foster a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
Design and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
Supervise students during practical computer lab sessions and ensure adherence to safe and responsible computer use.
Keep up with current developments in technology and incorporate them into teaching practices to ensure curriculum relevance.
Promote responsible digital citizenship and ethical technology use among students.
Provide support for school-wide ICT needs, including setting up and maintaining learning management systems, digital resources, and audiovisual equipment.
Organize and guide students in co-curricular ICT-related activities such as coding clubs, robotics teams, competitions, and tech fairs.
Work collaboratively with fellow staff members to integrate ICT across other subject areas and school projects.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavior.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and curriculum planning workshops.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and ICT-related updates.
Support the development and implementation of the school’s ICT policy and long-term digital learning strategy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education (with ICT specialization), or a related field.
A valid teaching license or certification from the relevant educational authority.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Computer Studies or related subjects at the secondary level (preferred).
Strong knowledge of the national Computer Studies curriculum and emerging educational technologies.
Proficiency in a variety of programming languages and software applications (e.g., Python, Scratch, HTML/CSS, Java, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer and network issues.
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Passion for technology and teaching, with a commitment to student development and digital innovation.
Experience with blended learning and digital teaching tools is an added advantage.
